WNY Professional Golfers’ Association
The interns will be working with section staff to help conduct both Junior Golf and Professional Tournaments. Interns will also have the opportunity to be involved in events conducted by the WNYPGA Foundation, charitable arm of the WNYPGA Section.
Start and end dates: April 15th through June 15th for the spring term, and July 1st through August 15th for the summer term
Location: Office located at The Fox Valley Club Cabin at 6161 Genesee Street, Lancaster, NY 14086. Interns will be traveling to golf courses across Buffalo, Rochester and Erie, PA.
Day(s) of the week the intern needs to be on site: Weekends and weekdays will be flexible for timing depending on the availability of the intern
How many hours: 2 – 8 depending on event
Session(s) for internship? Spring, Summer
Any age requirement? 16 with a driver’s license
Any course prerequisites: None but, an interest in golf or sports administration preferred
Specific skills, if any, required: Physically able to lift 50 lbs. (golf bags) and computer literate, entering data on a spreadsheet
Specific duties: Duties include but not limited to: Event Operations, Event Marketing, On-Site Sponsor Activation and Customer Service.
Any forms an intern needs to complete prior to working within organization?: Must fill out a background check to be approved as a PGA Youth Safety Advocate.
Number of interns accommodated per term: Spring session 2-4, Summer session 3-5
